Delete your Versio account

You can delete your Versio account and associated data at any time — in the app, or by emailing us. Here's exactly how, and what happens to your data.

Option 1 — Delete from the app

  1. Open Versio and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings. [TODO: exact path, e.g. Profile → Settings]
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm. Your account is deleted and you are signed out.

Option 2 — Ask us by email

If you can't access the app, or you've already uninstalled it, send an email from the address linked to your account with the subject “Delete my account”.

We may ask you to confirm the request to make sure it really comes from you. We complete email requests within [TODO: e.g. 7 days] and confirm by email when it's done.

What gets deleted

  • Your profile: email address, phone number, display name, password and language setting.
  • Your messages: the text messages you sent and their translations.
  • Your voice messages: recordings, transcriptions and AI‑generated translated audio.
  • Notification tokens for your devices, and your list of blocked users.

What may be kept, and for how long

  • Backups: deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to [TODO: e.g. 30 days] before being overwritten.
  • Other people's copies: [TODO: confirm — e.g. “messages you sent are also removed from the other person's chat” OR “the other person may still see past messages, shown as from a deleted user”]
  • Safety and legal records: if there is an open abuse report or a legal obligation, we may keep the minimum necessary information for up to [TODO: e.g. 90 days] or as long as the law requires.
  • AI providers: content sent for translation or voice generation may be retained by those providers for a limited period under their own terms [TODO: e.g. up to 30 days].

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
