Terms of Service

These Terms (also our End User License Agreement, “EULA”) are the rules for using Versio. Please read them — by creating an account you agree to them.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

Versio is provided by [TODO: legal name of the owner / company and address] (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing or using Versio you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Age requirements

You must be at least [TODO: 13 or 16] years old, and old enough to consent to data processing in your country, to use Versio. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Versio only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

  • You must provide accurate information, including a phone number and email address you control.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account.
  • One person, one account. You may not impersonate anyone or create accounts on someone else's behalf without permission.
  • Tell us promptly at awalsia25@gmail.com if you think your account has been compromised.
  • You can delete your account at any time — see Delete account.

4. Acceptable use

You may use Versio for personal, lawful communication. You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone;
  • post hate speech or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or similar characteristics;
  • share sexual content involving minors (which we report to the authorities), non‑consensual intimate content, or unsolicited sexual content;
  • send spam, scams, phishing, malware or unsolicited commercial messages;
  • promote violence, terrorism, self‑harm or illegal activities, or sell illegal goods;
  • infringe others' intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • reverse‑engineer, scrape, overload or interfere with the app or its servers, or bypass security or blocks.

5. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

There is no tolerance for objectionable or abusive content, or for users who post it. Content that violates these Terms may be removed and the account responsible may be suspended or permanently banned, without prior notice.

We act on reports of objectionable content [TODO: e.g. within 24 hours] by removing the content and ejecting the user who provided it, where appropriate.

6. Blocking, reporting and enforcement

  • Blocking: you can block any user directly from a chat. Once blocked, they can no longer send you messages.
  • Reporting: you can report abuse by emailing awalsia25@gmail.com with the other user's details and a description (screenshots help). [TODO: add in‑app “Report” option if available]
  • Enforcement: we may warn, restrict, suspend or permanently close accounts that break these Terms, and we may preserve and share information with authorities where required by law or to protect someone's safety.

7. AI translations and synthetic voices

Versio translates text and voice messages automatically using artificial intelligence, and generates synthetic voices for translated voice messages. Translations and voices are produced automatically and may contain errors, lose nuance, or misrepresent tone. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial, safety‑critical or other important decisions. The original message is always available — tap a message to see it.

You are responsible for the original content you send. The synthetic voice is not the sender's real voice.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of the messages and recordings you send. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to store, process, translate, transcribe, convert to synthetic speech and deliver your content, solely to operate and provide Versio. This license ends when your content is deleted, except where the other participant still has a copy in their conversation or we must keep it by law.

9. Intellectual property and license to use the app

Versio, including its software, design, name and logo, belongs to us and our licensors. We grant you a personal, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to download and use the app on devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the app.

10. App Store and Google Play

If you downloaded Versio from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any product‑liability, consumer‑protection or intellectual‑property claims relating to the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third‑party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If you downloaded Versio from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.

11. Disclaimers

Versio is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the app will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or that translations will be accurate. We are not responsible for the conduct of other users. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under applicable law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Versio, including from errors in automatic translation. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or €50. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or gross negligence.

13. Termination

You may stop using Versio and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. If you keep using Versio after the changes take effect, you accept the new Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [TODO: Italy]. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of [TODO: city], without prejudice to the mandatory rights of consumers to bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence.
